Tekla Online services use Trimble Identity for identification. In addition to Tekla services, you can use your Trimble Identity with several other Trimble services, such as Trimble Connect and SketchUp 3D Warehouse.
Trimble Identity provides single-sign-on access for Tekla Online services. You can sign in to one service and then browse to another online service without a need to sign in again. You can find the available services here: http://www.tekla.com/services
If you cannot access the Tekla Discussion Forum, please read and follow the instructions below.
Instructions for industry professionals:

  • Create a Trimble Identity for yourself
    • If you have not created a Trimble Identity, please do so.
  • Ensure that your Trimble Identity is verified
    • When you create a Trimble Identity, you get a verification code by email. Use the code to activate your identity.
    • If you do not receive the email, check your spam settings and spam email folder. It is likely your email firewall is stopping emails from arriving. Please allow emails from no-reply@account.trimble.com*@trimble.com and *@trimblepaas.com and *@mail.trimblepaas.com.
  • Make sure that you get appropriate access rights to the Tekla Discussion Forum and all other Tekla Online services

    For example, if you work for a company having a valid maintenance contract or subscription license, you are entitled to login to the Tekla Discussion Forums for users on maintenance or subscription.
    • Sign in to https://account.tekla.com and check your profile.
    • If you do not see the name of your company mentioned in your profile under My organization, it means that your personal Trimble Identity has not been linked to your organization in the service and you do not have on-maintenance access rights.
    • Contact the main user in your company. He/she is the organization administrator of your company account.
    • Ask him/her to invite you the your organization in the Tekla Online Profile service.

NOTE! Access rights to Tekla Online services are granted to Tekla customer organizations. You get your access rights when you join your organization in the Tekla Online Profile service.


Instructions for educational users:

  • Create a Trimble Identity for yourself
  • Ensure that your Trimble Identity is verified
    • When you create a Trimble Identity, you get a verification code by email. Use the code to activate your identity.
    • If you do not receive the email, check your spam settings and spam email folder. It is likely your email firewall is stopping emails from arriving. Allow emails from no-reply@account.trimble.com or Trimble domains.
  • Sign in to your Tekla Online Profile
    • On the My profile tab, select Profile type Educational and fill in your information.
  • On Activate licenses tab, activate your free Tekla Student subscription
  • With valid Tekla Student subscription, you have full access to Tekla Student Forums and you can read the posts on other Tekla forums.

Instructions for every main user in companies having a valid Tekla maintenance or subscription license:
How do I invite the employees of my company to our organization in the Tekla online service?

  • Sign in to the Tekla Online Admin Tool at https://admin.account.tekla.com using your own Trimble Identity.
  • Open the company page and check the list of employees belonging to your company.
  • If you cannot see all your employees on the list, invite them by clicking the Invite employees button.
  • In the Invite employees to organization dialog, add the email addresses of all the employees you want to invite.
  • Send the invite(s).
    • When your employees accept the invitation, they are joining your company in the service and they will get the access rights your company is entitled to.

NOTE! If you cannot access the Tekla Online Admin Tool and you are the main user in your company, please contact your local Trimble/Tekla Area Office / Tekla Reseller or your Account Manager for more information.

#67675 How do I recognize staff on the Forum?

In our recent Tekla Discussion Forum user survey we asked how we could improve the Forum, and one of the suggestions that community had was to improve the visibility of the support staff on the Forum by use of avatars or something similar.

We've added now a staff icon under the profile image of all the Forum users who are Forum Moderators, Tekla Resellers, Trimble Solutions or Trimble Regional Office staff.

I hope this makes it easier to spot us out there.

The Tekla Discussion Forum is a service where Tekla users can discuss issues related to Tekla products. Please notice that by posting to a discussion forum you agree that webmaster, administrator and moderators have the right to remove, edit, and move or close any topic at any time should they see fit.
By posting to a discussion forum you agree to any information you have entered into a forum being stored in a database.
Before you post a new topic, search the forum for similar topics. Keep one topic per discussion thread. Moderators may move posts or close topics if there are duplicate threads.
Different forums are for different purposes. Please see the forum descriptions and post on the forum most related to your question. The better you place your message, the sooner you’ll get answered!
Subjects for new forum threads must be clear and informative. This makes them easier to find.
Official language in Tekla discussion forums is English, apart from those forums where other languages can be used.
If you are asking help to a software problem, include the version number and environment to your message. Add also snapshots and error messages, they can help to solve the issue. When the question has been answered, please post a message on the thread that indicates this.
When you are uploading attachments (for example, images, zip files, PDF files or any other kind of files), ensure that you own the content or that you have the rights to utilize the content you are uploading. Any uploaded content violating the Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market, formally the Directive (EU) 2019/790 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 April 2019 on copyright and related rights in the Digital Single Market and amending Directives 96/9/EC and 2001/29/EC,will be removed from the service.

In urgent issues please contact your local area office or your Tekla reseller for technical support.
Please remember:

  • Forum posts are open to all users of the forum.
  • Spamming or trolling is not allowed.
  • No cross-posting: Cross-posting means to post the same question in different discussion forums.
  • We will not tolerate swearing, rudeness, insulting, abusive, threatening or harmful posts. Moderators will remove offensive posts.
  • No inappropriate usernames, signatures or avatars.
  • We can and we will ban from the forum anyone who is violating the forum rules.  
  • We reserve the right to take any appropriate actions to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.

#97174 How do I find content on the Forum?

* Search for options and Search limitations

There are multiple search options available for finding content. The Quick Search can be used by typing your keywords into the quick-search bar at the top of any page and pressing the ‘Search’ button. There are some limitations when searching words that are 3 characters or less. For example, to find all topics with the word ‘PDF’ on them, type ‘PDF*’ on the Quick Search box.


Next to the Quick Search bar, you can click the cog icon to access Advanced Search. Advanced search brings you multiple options to define your search

  • Use the ‘Find words’ field to enter the keywords to search for. The same limitation with the word length applies - use wildcards at the end of the word that has three characters or less.

  • ‘Find author’ " field can be used to find content from a specific user. Note that the author’s name has to be exact spelling, and the full username.

  • The ‘Find by date’ option allows you to restrict the results to content added between particular dates. This is particularly useful if you are looking for older content, as the Forum search will only return the first 250 hits that meet your search criteria. By using the ‘Find by date’ you can search for older content that would not otherwise be shown in the search results.

  • ‘Find in forum’ allows you to restrict your results to content within particular forums. You can select multiple options by holding the Ctrl key on your keyboard and clicking on your options.


You may have noticed that when you are viewing a particular topic, or a particular forum, that the search bar changes from ‘Search Forum’ to ‘Search This Topic’ - this Inline Search feature allows you to search through the current topic without getting search results for other areas of the forum. Click on the ‘Search This Topic’ to change the Search section to ‘Forums’ to search from the entire Forum.


The Forum search options, the Quick Search, Advanced Options and Inline Search are all described on the Forum Help, along with other useful information. You can also access Help from the ‘Help’ link at the very bottom of the Forum page.


* Sorting the Search results

Search results are by default sorted according to "Last update time", not according to how many times the keyword was found in the topic. You can also choose to sort the results by:

  • ‘Title’, the keyword is included in title

  • ‘Replies’, sorts the topics by number of replies to the topic,  or

  • ‘Views’, which sorts the topics based on the number of times the post has been viewed

If you still can’t find what you are looking for, post your question on the Forum so that Community can help by answering your question, or by pointing you to relevant topics if there are such available.


* How can I find my own content

Access your Forum profile by clicking on your username at the top right corner, and then click ‘My content’. You can use ‘My content’ to list the posts that you have made. You can also search for your content using the Find author functionality described above


* What if I still haven't found what I’m looking for?

Maybe you're not alone. Let us help you! It’s possible that the forum does not yet contain the information in the format you are trying to find it - or maybe it’s there but you just haven’t found the right keyword. You can ask a question,  follow ongoing discussions, read the forum threads and participate in the discussion. If you post your question, there is probably someone who knows something related to the issue if that information is available on the forum.

Trimble is following the US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, also called US GAAP, adopted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).


In US GAAP, there are certain principles for revenue recognition.


In practice, the revenue recognition principles mean that employees, working for a company following the US GAAP principles, cannot reveal specified information regarding future plans, ongoing development or upcoming releases, features or launch of new products.


Employees are allowed to inform customers about ongoing fixing of defects related to software features which were working in a previous software release.


Employees are not allowed to discuss development regarding defects found in the latest software release.


If such information is provided to potential/current customers of the company, the revenue of the purchase can be recognized only when all the items have been delivered to the customer including the shared new update/upgrade or functionality.

#67672 How do I get an award on the Forum?

In our recent Tekla Discussion Forum user survey we received some great feedback from forum users. One of the suggestions to improve the Forum was for us to give recognition for those forum members who contribute by helping other users by answering to their questions. 


In order to give recognition to the active members of the community, we utilize the built-in 'Suggest Solution' Forum feature. When you ask a question, and receive an answer, you can mark the post that helped you to resolve the problem. Every time you mark a post as best answer, it counts towards the next award level of the person who posted that helpful answer. Our moderator team will give out the awards four times a year, and the first batch of users with most posts marked as answers were given out today.


In addition in the end of the year, the most helpful user will be awarded with the Most Helpful User 2016 award. 


We've also got an award category for those staff members who have provided a solution (posts labeled as 'Suggested Solution') to 50+ questions since the new Forum launched. Those forum members have received the Support Expert award.


You click the link to view all the award categories or navigate to categories page through the Awards tab next to 'Forums' and 'Members', and see who all have been awarded.

Polls are a great way to find out if other users share your views or opinions and are very easy to do
Creating a Poll
  1. If you don't already have a Topic discussion running then start a new topic, give it a title that describes the Topic.
  2. Click on Manage Topic Poll button on the right 
  3. Poll manager window opens. Give the poll a title that describes it, and add the question and any desired options. 
    Tip: Give options to vote as yes or no
  4. In the post window describe the Topic in more depth giving some background to the Poll.
Turning an existing Topic into a Poll
It is possible to turn the existing topic you have created into a Poll. 
  1. Click on 'Edit' under the post
  2. Click on 'Use full editor', and add a poll as per steps 2 and 3 above

#60508 How do I get rid of the ID number in my display name?

The display name is automatically generated based on your first name + last name in your Tekla Online profile unless you define something else.


If your name is equal to the name of someone else (First name Last name) who has already logged in to the forum, the ID number will automatically be added to your display name on the forum like this First name Lastname (12345).


There are two possible ways to fix this:

  1. If you know that you might have two profiles on the forum (an old one and the current one you are using), forum administrators can merge your profiles on the forum into one. In that case, please contact us using the Contact Us form.
  2. If your display name is equal to the display name of another user on the forum, please go to your Tekla Online profile, enter a different display name into the Display name field and save the changes. Log out from all Tekla Online services and log in again to the forum, your display name on the forum will be updated with the changes you made to your display name in your Tekla Online profile.

You can evaluate and learn how to use Tekla software in the following ways:


- by personally accessing the Tekla Campus website at https://campus.tekla.com where you can

  • download and install the Tekla Structures Learning edition
  • learn how to use the software using the learning videos
  • discuss the usage of the Tekla Structures Learning edition with other students on the Tekla Campus forum.


- by contacting your local Tekla Area office / Reseller as a representative of your organization and

  • ask for a temporary evaluation license of the latest Tekla Structures version
  • ask for temporary access to Tekla's online services, like Tekla Downloads, Tekla User Assistance, Tekla Warehouse and Tekla Discussion Forum.

You can find the contact information to Tekla Area offices and Resellers globally on the Tekla website.

good morning, our company doesnt have an existing tekla license but im evaluating, and studying the possibility of purchasing a tekla license. i would like to access the forum for me to see peoples concern and the technical support being provided. I have used tekla in my previous company but would like to refresh my knowledge to better promote purchasing Tekla for our use.

Si vous avez des difficultés pour accéder au nouveau "Forum de discussion", Merci de lire les instructions suivantes.


Instructions pour chaque utilisateur:

  1. Assurez-vous d'avoir créé nouveau compte Tekla (ATC) sur https://account.tekla.com
    1. Si vous ne l'avez pas encore fait, alors il est temps de le faire ! Cliquez alors sur le lien ci-dessus !
  1. Assurez-vous compte Tekla (ATC) est bien vérifier.
    1. Si vous essayez de vous logger et que le message suivant apparait alors "You need to verify your account(Vous devez vérifier votre compte) sélectionnez “order a new link” et vérifier votre profil sur  ATC.
    2. Si vous vous loggez sur votre ATC et que le message suivant apparait "You need to verify your account. Check your email for verification link or order new link.", (Vous devez vérifier votre compte, contrôlez la réception de votre email permettant la vérification du lien, ou demander un nouveau lien), alors suivez les instructions.

      Contrôler également vos paramètres et votre boite de réception des "courriers indésirables" si vous n'avez rien reçu.
  2. Assurez-vous d'avoir les droits appropriés pour accéder au Forum de discussion ou à tous les autres Services Online de Tekla.

    Par exemple, si vous travaillez pour une entreprise ayant un contrat de maintenance valide avec Tekla, vous êtes habilité à vous logger sur le forum de discussion des utilisateurs sous maintenance.
    1. Loggez-vous sur votre compte Tekla (ATC) https://account.tekla.com et contrôler votre profil.
    2. Si vous ne voyez pas le nom de votre entreprise écrit dans votre profil cela signifie que votre compte n'est pas relié à votre entreprise et donc que vous n'avez aucun droit d'accès.
    3. Contactez l'utilisateur principal de votre entreprise, il ou elle pourra en tant qu'administrateur du compte Tekla (ATC) de votre entreprise vous donnez les droits nécessaires.
    4. Demandez-lui ou elle de vous inviter à rejoindre le compte Tekla (ATC) de votre entreprise.

NB! Les droits d'accès aux Services Online de Tekla sont accordés aux entreprises clientes Tekla et vous obtiendrez vos droits d'accès lorsque vous rejoindrez votre entreprise dans le compte Tekla (ATC).


Instructions pour chaque utilisateur principal d'entreprise ayant un contrat de maintenance valide avec Tekla :


Comment puis-je inviter un employé de mon entreprise à rejoindre notre compte Tekla (ATC)?

  1. Loggez-vous sur votre compte Tekla (ATC) https://account.tekla.com en utilisant votre compte Tekla.
  2. Ouvrez la page de votre entreprise et contrôlez la liste des employés y figurant.
  3. Si vous ne voyez pas les employés de votre entreprise, invitez-les en cliquant sur le bouton "Invite users".
  4. Ajoutez alors l'adresse email personnelle de chacun des employés que vous souhaitez inviter.
  5. Envoyez l'invitation.


Lorsque les employés acceptent l'invitation, ils rejoignent le compte Tekla (ATC) de l'entreprise et ont les droits d'accès que vous leur avez conférés


NB! Si vous n'avez pas accès au bouton "Tekla Account Admin Tool" et que vous êtes administrateur de votre entreprise, contactez Tekla France pour débloquer la situation.

#64107 How can I ask questions on the Forum?

If you have a tricky problem with your Tekla product, you can ask questions on the forum.

Our user community is very active and odds are someone has wrestled with the same kind of problem in the past and could be able to give good advice on how to resolve the problem. We also have active moderator team and Tekla's support teams who are also answering questions on the Forum. 


Few tips for asking questions:

  • Try to pick the Forum area that best fits your question
  • If your question is urgent, contact your local support by phone or email, you can find the contact information here
  • It helps the community if you mention the Tekla product version and SR - some problems are specific to a certain version or service release - as well as Environment
  • Images or videos can help to describe the problem for others so they can provide a better solution.

How do I close a topic?

  • When you do receive an answer to your problem, don't forget to mark the topic answered! You can do this by clicking on the 'Suggest solution' button on the post that best answers your question.

Where should I look for more information?


Please look for additional information in the Tekla product-specific Tekla User Assistance services:

The services contain a lot of answers to common problems. Log in and use the search to find support articles that may answer your question.

#117364 Bug fenêtre de zoom

 Bonjour à tous.

Depuis quelques temps j'ai un problème d'affichage lorsque je fais une fenêtre de zoom. Comme on peut le voir sur l'image jointe, la trace de la fenêtre reste affichée à l'écran et le pointeur souris laisse également une trace. Ce problème se répercute sur chaque pc lorsqu'on copie un fichier d'un pc vers un autre. Pour info, nous somme sur version 20.1

Est-ce que quelqu'un aurait une solution à ce problème?
